Does it appear in available seats on gmc website? Do i need to cancel first to find out these cancelled seats ?
Correct! to see available slots, you first need to cancel the exiting seat that you have booked.

You need not cancel your booking to see the available slots. However, if you need to re-book, you must cancel your current booking.

Yes, technically you are right!! 
It wouldn’t be advisable to cancel your slot just to check PLAB 2 slot, that would be silly, as you won’t be to then rebook the same seat that you just cancelled. Now, you’ll end up with no seats.

Yes, it’s likely!
They do realise seats in bulk time-to-time but you’ve to be quite active while searching for PLAB 2 slots.
I have been very active on the portal. Seen some dates for feb, jan june and july. For some strange reasons, I have seen any of the months I want. Hahaha (March/April/May).
